Ce soir à la Case à chocs de Neuchâtel, Brink Man Ship proposera le versant créatif et climatique de cette musique qui mêle les racines du groove et un swing plus contemporain, plus gouverné par les machines. Du jazz trempé dans le hip-hop et la jungle, mais conscient de sa puissance instrumentale.
Les effets électroniques disent l'azur et l'urbain, le vide et le plein et se rattachent aussi à une tradition recherchée en Afrique comme dans les Caraïbes. Les parties electros sont suffisamment soignées pour qu'elles ne fassent pas l'effet de gadgets. Sur scène on espère aussi retrouver le versant le plus expérimental et bruitiste exprimé dans «Windbeutel».
Emmené par le subtil saxophoniste et clarinettiste alémanique Jan Galega Brönnimann qui peut souffler dans sa clarinette basse comme dans un dijerdio ou s'enivrer de textures profondes à la Michel Portal, le sextet développe une musique teintée d'effets qui rappelle les opus les plus planants de Mich Gerber.
Un groupe qui raconte des histoires où la tristesse et l'amour se caressent comme le prouve le bel opus studio enregistré l'an dernier chez Unit records, «The last place to be lost».
